Heart of England Conference and Events Centre
On Friday the Onyx Team took part in a team building day at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre.
We took part in various activities which tested our communication, leadership and support skills. This included laser clay shooting, dual go karting, and a catapult building challenge. All of which were great fun!
As you can see by the pictures the day was a success. I was over the moon to see how well the team worked together and also seeing everyone having fun and getting to know each other. In particular our new starters who got stuck right in, and gave them a stronger understanding of the family culture we share here at Onyx.

Dual Control Go Karting

Laser Clay Shooting
Splitting into two groups we took on the challenge of shooting at flying missiles. The initial practice run included shooting our instructor – we ALL enjoyed that part!
The Catapult Building Challenge
Working against each other we had to build a catapult using very limited materials!
- 12 long bamboo canes
- Elastic bands
- Bungies of various lengths
- Sticking tape
One group managed to build a suitable catapult which was able to successfully shoot a missile.
The other group ….. well, let’s just say they tried their best!
